What is Voidbloom?

Voidbloom is a browser-based survival roguelite. You pilot a light-ship adrift in a hungry void while enemies bloom out of the darkness in ever-thicker swarms. Your weapons fire on their own — your job is to fly: dodge, kite, and decide how your build comes together. Runs are short, typically a few minutes, and every death is permanent, but your coins, upgrades and unlocks are kept for the next run.

It is built with plain JavaScript and the HTML5 canvas, so it loads fast and plays on desktop and mobile browsers alike — no plugins, no app store, no waiting.

Core gameplay

Movement is the whole skill. You steer; the ship shoots automatically.

• Move with WASD, the arrow keys, or a touch-drag virtual joystick on phones and tablets.
• Collect green shards dropped by destroyed enemies to fill the experience bar and level up.
• On each level-up, choose one of three powers — a new weapon, a weapon upgrade, or a passive system.
• Carry up to four weapons and four passive systems per run, each upgradeable through five levels; a weapon's final level transforms it.
• Survive escalating swarms and gold-ringed elites, then face bosses that arrive on a timed schedule.

Because a run is short, a focused, synergistic build beats a little of everything. Choosing what not to take is part of the game.

Single-player progression

Voidbloom is fully playable solo. Beyond a single run, progression runs deep:

• Permanent upgrades bought with earned Void Coins that persist across every run, including a once-per-run revive.
• Unlockable vessels, each flying differently and starting with a different weapon.
• Operations — focused challenge runs (no-hit, kill-race, level-race, boss-hunt and more) with their own records.
• Vessel Mastery that advances the ship you fly and unlocks alternate starting weapons.
• Daily contracts, streaks and a free daily reward that reward simply showing up and playing.
• Pilot Rank, an account-level track that climbs titles from Cadet to Voidlord.

Multiplayer

Voidbloom includes live multiplayer through Void Clash. Two to eight signed-in pilots launch into the same sector on one signal, each flying their own swarm at the same time — the last pilot alive takes the match. Kills become weapons: destroying an elite hurls a surge wave at a rival, and dropping a boss hits everyone. A cooperative Team Raid mode also lets a small squad fight through shared boss rounds together against the clock. Competitive play is tracked with divisions that follow you across devices.

Browser compatibility

Voidbloom targets modern desktop and mobile web browsers with JavaScript enabled. The interface is responsive and touch-first, with a virtual joystick, safe-area support and auto-pause when you switch tabs. All audio — sound effects and the adaptive synthwave soundtrack — is synthesized in the browser at runtime, so there are no audio files to download.

Accounts (optional)

You can play immediately with no account — progress is saved locally in your browser. Creating a free account (just a callsign and password, or Continue with Google) adds cross-device cloud saves, entry into the global leaderboard, friends, referrals, trading and Fleets. Email is optional and used only for password recovery.
